Position Title: ITAM Coordinator
Job Description:
Vertex has a requirement for an Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Coordinator with experience in developing and maintaining annual ITAM Sustainable Range Program (SRP) and Range Complex Master Plan Tool (RCMPT) reports; he/she will report directly to the in-country Vertex Program Manager. Candidate must be a United States citizen with proof of citizenship and U.S. passport.
Required Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard workweek is six (6) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40-hour work week while at CONUS work sites.
Responsibilities:
The ITAM Coordinator is responsible for providing management and technical expertise to ITAM program activities; to include organizing all components of the ITAM program to accomplish ITAM objectives. * Primary point of contact for the ITAM Program and provides recommendations regarding ITAM requirements and appropriate ITAM activities.
* Prepares the scopes of work (SOW) for training requirements integration, sustainable range awareness, training-land rehabilitation and maintenance, training-land condition assessment and Geographic Information System (GIS) support.
* Provides information for Program decision support, to include preparing and presenting briefings, conducting meetings, and preparing documents supporting land-management decisions.
* Ensures ITAM objectives are included in the Range Development Program (RDP).
* Provides recommendations to the in-country Vertex Program Manager to ensure that compatible land uses do not compromise installation training goals; oversees LRAM, RTLA, and GIS component activities to ensure integration in support of overall ITAM goals and ASG-KU installation training objectives.
* Coordinates and monitors the progress of other agencies when they are integral to ARTC & URC operations.
* Maintains financial and project records of work plan execution.
* Coordinates the acquisition and maintenance of ITAM equipment and supplies with the Vertex MPM.
* Provides Range Operations direct support for all geospatial related products associated with Udairi Range / Training Complex when required.
* Provides DOD with MIM (military installation map) imagery products referencing all geospatial associated workings of Udairi Range Complex, (Udairi Special).
* Works in direct coordination with URC ArcGIS Coordinator on all current and or projected live-fire and or training facility modernization efforts.
* Maintains URC MIM database within the SRP (Sustainable Range Program) mil web portal.
* Provides secondary RFMSS scheduler coverage.
* Responsible for other duties as assigned/directed.
Required Qualifications:
* Knowledge of and skill in applying a wide range of concepts, principles, practices, and methodology of Land Management Programs, to resolve substantial problems concerning required training exercises and natural resource and training area preservation.
* Knowledge of US Army regulations, SRP policies and procedures; applicable Federal statutes and legislation governing individual programs and related disciplines; and Kuwait Government & tribal laws, customs, mores, and economic interests sufficient to resolve complex problems involving matters, such as developing and implementing multiple-use resource management plans or covering diverse resource management issues.
* Ability to modify or adapt standard processes and procedures; assessing, selecting, and applying remedies suited to the assigned problem or situation.
* Devising strategies to overcome significant resource or environmental problems; assessing the environmental impact of various practices.
* Ability to interpret environmental management to assess the impact of training activities on the natural resources and ecology involving matters directly and closely related to public welfare and sustainment of test and training lands for military training use.
* Ability to apply and interpret environmental regulatory requirements in resource management reviews and contract proposals.
* Provide advisory and/or specialized services; and evaluate the impact of various uses of natural resources within the areas of concern.
* Must possess a US Passport with at least 2 years of remaining eligibility.
Desired Qualifications:
* Extensive operations and training background.
* Live and work in an austere desert environment.
* Experience on a brigade or division staff in planning and executing Unified Land Operations, maneuvers, gunneries and ranges.
* Knowledge of all weapons systems in an Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT).
* Knowledge of range operations at major training sites such as CTCs and NTC.
* Expertise and experience operating RFMSS and SRP GIS.
* Detail-oriented with the ability to work under deadlines while adhering to all applicable safety guidelines including: AR 385-63, DA Pam 385-63, and Area Support Group – Kuwait Range Operations Standardized Operating Procedures.
* Able to work closely with other team members, Customers, and End Users.
* Possess knowledge and technical expertise in the use of all Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Adobe Acrobat products.
* Knowledgeable with AR 385-63 Range Safety and DA Pam 385-63 Range Safety.
* Excellent time-management skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to multi-task, and interface on a regular basis with military leaders, managers and trainers.
* Self-starter with good organizational skills who can work both independently and as a member of an integrated team; excellent problem-solving skills.
* Trained in Six Sigma Methodology.
* Knowledge of military training methodology.
