EDUCATION: Masters in Hospital Administration, Graduate in Biology, Post-Graduate in Medical Record Administration, with Diploma in Computer Science.
TRAINING: professionally trained in Christian Medical College & Hospital-India , Munich university Hospital- Germany, Brooklyn Medical Center and George Washington University Hospital- USA.
EXPERIENCE: 37 years of experience in the Administration (4 years in India, 20 years in Saudi Arabia and 13 years in ASPETAR, Qatar)
ACHIEVEMENTS :
1.At ASPETAR- started Medical Records Department from the inception in 2007.
Managed the department from 5 transactions to 850 transactions per day over 11 years.
Conducted Documentation Audits, reports generated and reports presented.
Implemented ICD coding, submitted required data set to MOPH and trained staff.
Presented Medical Records as evaluation tool to achieve national and international accreditations bodies (MOPH, IOC,FIFA, GCC, ISO, JCI and ACI) .
Implemented Electronic Medical Record (EMR-CERNER) and maintained EMR-GE CENTRICITY in the department and assisted other departments. Customized and trained our staff.
MOPH: Served as member of the following committees:
Member -eHealth Data Quality, Standards & Policy Committee
Member -Diagnosis Working Group
Member – National Coding Working group
Member & evaluator- QHIE-Hub Evaluation committee
HMC: Invited to observe & present project report for improvement of Medical Records department to
management and Dr. Hanan Al Kuwairi during her leadership.
CCQ ( Community College of Qatar): Served as resource person for Standard Curriculum for Health Information Management Course. Collaborated with AHIMA&IFHIMA to assist curriculum development and liaised with college officials.
2. OVERALL:
Served as Director of Medical Records for 4 hospitals with more than 100 staff.
Implemented EMR in 7 hospitals including CERNER, GE-Centricity, SAP-Healthcare, AKHIL-EMR &HIMS involved in selection, implementation, customization and maintenance.
Contributed to the MOH-Medical Records standards publication for hospitals in KSA.
Contributed WHO publication of implementation Medical Records Department and Electronic Medical Record.
Attended several national and international conferences and presented few papers.
Served for institutional, national and international professional committees like GHWC*, AHIMA, IFHIMA, HIMSS.
*Global Health Workforce Committee(GHWC): one among 13 Executive members selected around the world to develop standard Curriculum for HIM in collaboration with AHIMA, IFHIMA and US Department of Commerce.
