Responsible for actuarial analysis used to develop pricing for new and existing products in line with management’s and company’s objectives. Initiate, organize and manage actuarial/underwriting projects independently and is responsible for the use of statistical models to analyze data and calculate the probability of and costs associated with certain events.The purpose of the actuarial function is to advise on, monitor, investigate and report on the setting of the Al
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree in Finance or Risk Management. 10 – 12 years of experience in insurance business or enterprise risk management. Attendance on relevant functionally-related post-graduate programs covering such areas as risk management/loss control philosophy/theory, insurance management and strategic planning. Professional Insurance Qualification of the Chartered Insurance Institute is an advantage. Preferred to have professional qualification or certification in Risk Management

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Description Actuarial Strategy, Business Plans, Policies & Procedures
Formulate and implement actuarial strategy, annual business plans, policies and procedures to support functional and organizational business strategy. Develop/prepare reports and assist in the development of new/revised policies. Interpret government regulations and internal policies. Assure periodical update for the trend of each market and periodical standard premium review in addition to new products pricing. Preparing the actuarial reports and complying with the other actuarial reporting obligations required by the law, instructions, and circulars.
Actuarial Analysis
Gather and prepare analysis based on information from internal and external sources. Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to problems in insurance. Research functional issues using a variety of resources. Develop, maintain, audit and review functional databases and identifies inconsistencies. Prepare recommendations based on data summaries, trend analysis, financial analysis, and business analysis. Analyze data, construct probability tables to forecast risk and liability for future payment benefits. Ascertain premium rates and cash revenues to ensure payment of future benefits. Prepare and analyse ratings for new and renewing commercial groups. Provide underwriting analysis for pricing and risk assessment selections including financial, business, and trend analysis of data critical for decision making in achievement of business objectives Portfolio management through policies performance analysis and implementation of corrective measures. Close support for treaty underwriters in any treaty pricing; actuarial assessment of actuarial reports (rates validation: ex. SAMA), detailed portfolio pricing, planning figures settings.
Systems, Models & Processes
Participates in cross-functional teams to develop new /enhancedsystems/ processes /programs / policies to support business needs. Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time. Build AXIS pricing models. Develop working knowledge of the administration and illustration systems.
Coordination & Support
Support for annual statements and other monthly financial reporting. Support Actuarial customer service. Support Actuarial compliance to resolve complaints. Participate in the preparation of documentation related to government filings/licensing. Assist in the administration of assigned programs. Support and peer review policy underwriters on non-traditional group pricing deviations and pricing of large and complicated policies (new/renew).
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of Enterprise Risk Management systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Key Performance Indicators:
Compliance with operational procedures and instructions. Developed & Implemented models for Actuarial Analysis Timely support. Number and quality of improvements are in line with corporate expectations and implemented.
FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:
The Actuarial Analyst reports to the CEO. The jobholder is expected to assist Valuation Actuary in developing models for Cash Flow Testing. Support acquisition and/or conversion team. Provide employees with a work environment that is open and conducive to effective task performance, personal development and career growth. Key decisions having significant impact on the Actuarial Analyst are referred to the CRO for approval before implementation. Always review Compliance requirements and be Compliant to QCB and other regulations.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
Regular communication with all department managers and Risk Representatives. Weekly meeting with the department staff.
External:
Regular and close coordination with international engineering companies, insurance / reinsurance companies, brokers. Consultant, vendors & suppliers
