Summary: VES is looking for a Manual Machinist to join our team in our Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role sets up and operates a variety of manual machines such as lathes, milling machines and grinders to machine metal workpieces such as bits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Sets-up and operates machine tools, fits and assembles parts to make or repair metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines.
• Determines dimensions and tolerances of piece to be machined, sequence of operations, and machines required by studying specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, damaged parts, or descriptions of parts.
• Plans and executes machining using manual mills and lathes.
• Learns the repair process and assists in other areas such as brazing, grinding, finishing, sandblasting, and/or material handling. Assists in troubleshooting and making repairs to fixtures and machinery.
• Auto check the work done on dimensional and quality aspects
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area,
• Performs other duties and participates in special projects as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of a manufacturing work environment. Journeyman certification/license preferred. Forklift certification.
• Knowledge of a variety of metals and extensive knowledge of measurements.
• Typically, at least five to ten years of related experience. Experience in a similar environment strongly preferred. Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.

Additional Skills Required:

• efficiently select, set up, and operate various machine shop equipment to produce close-tolerance parts to specifications.
• consistently meet production and quality requirements.
• read and understand drawings, specifications, sketches, production schedule, quality, and safety instructions.
• read inside and outside micrometers and other types of precision measuring equipment.
• identify parts needing to be machined after disassembly and/or by using sketches, drawings, and/or blueprints.
• assist in troubleshooting and making repairs to production fixtures and machinery.
• add, subtract, multiply, and divide simple numbers.
• comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• ensure availability and good working condition of tools needed to complete the job.
• comprehend and communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely in English.
