The New Procurement Engineer will be responsible for sourcing critical materials for new factories, including Geotextile, Brakes, and Batteries. This role includes updating the Approved Suppliers List, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with ISO and API standards within the Procurement Department. The engineer will work under the supervision of Procurement Manager and collaborate closely with other departments to support the company’s sourcing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Critical Sourcing:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for new factories such as Geotextile, Brakes, and Batteries.
Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and supplier capabilities.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best quality and cost-effectiveness.
Supplier Management:
Update and maintain the Approved Suppliers List, ensuring all suppliers meet the company’s standards and requirements.
Monitor and assess the performance of critical suppliers, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and high-quality supply chains.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure all procurement activities comply with ISO and API standards.
Implement and maintain procurement processes that adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with the Factory Team and other relevant teams to understand and meet sourcing needs.
Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure clear understanding and expectations.
Provide technical support and guidance to the Procurement team as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the sourcing and procurement functions.
Stay informed about new technologies, materials, and processes that could benefit the company’s sourcing strategies.
Participate in relevant industry events and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or a related role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of ISO and API standards and their application in procurement.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software’s.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in sourcing materials for Geotextile, Brakes, and Batteries.
Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
