Stantec Bahrain is looking to hire a Project manager.
The role involves working on projects associated with infrastructure design including wastewater networks, water distribution networks, storm water & drainage, flood alleviation. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration, commercial management for design and construction supervision projects. Also, the role includes preparation of technical and financial proposals, Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:
1. Oversee investigations, concept and detailed designs for civil/ water/ wastewater infrastructure . Review data collection and analysis for conceptual planning and design, prepare design drawings and specifications, and solve design problems as required. . Review field investigations to collect design information.
2. Manage preparation of technical specifications, tendering . Engineering analysis, technical writing, design calculations, specifications, and drawings on projects . Manage project activities through the application of technical engineering planning, principles and techniques . Review project deliverables including writing technical reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports . Determine budgets, timelines and cost estimates for project design and construction
3. Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects . Held responsibility for management of the commercial aspects of projects (preparation of monthly cost to complete reports, and update of the reports as needed) . Management of contracts for design and construction supervision projects including contracts formation and administration . Coordinate with finance to prepare the projects invoices, and track progress of payment with clients
4. Prepare technical and financial proposals . Analyze scope of works for bids, and prepare for Go-No-Go Presentations . Review the technical elements prepared by the technical team . Coordinate with the marketing team to develop concise proposals . Prepare the level of efforts in coordination with the design leads, and estimate the proposals fees.
5. Collaboration and working as part of a team . Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required. . Conduct technical, feasibility studies and site investigations . Liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate completion of tasks, and project. . Good communicator.
6. Client Service Management . Internal and external client liaison . Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships . Experience in utility diversions and management
7. Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner. . Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures. . Design for safety, i.e. Construction Design Management.
8. Other duties as requested from time to time by the Country Manager.
Qualifications . 15-20 Total years of Experience . Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering . Chartered engineer from ICE or Professional Engineer. PMP Preferred. . Experience in design of large-scale water/wastewater/TSE/stormwater systems . Experience in construction supervision for water infrastructure projects . Experience in preparing technical and financial proposals . Commercial and contractual experience with public and private clients . Ability to deliver projects on time with high quality deliverables. . Excellent clients relationships
Preferred Specifications . Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments . Plans and develops projects with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs . Work involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of areas for investigation and development of new concepts . Liaison to groups within and outside of his/her organization with responsibility to act independently regarding matters pertaining to his/her function . Assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
