The Job Opportunity

Serco Middle East is a well-established, leading organization in the region and is looking for individuals with in-depth experience to deliver Rescue & Fire Fighting services at our client’s facility located in the Tabuk Province of Northwestern Saudi Arabia.

The Firefighter will provide a 24/7 community focused Fire & Rescue Service, including but not limited to: the provision of services in response to incidents, including fire, rescues, building and facility emergencies, storms, flooding, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials release and de-contamination/clean up tasks.

Please note that the hiring for this position is subject to contract award.

Key accountabilities

• Responds to actual or potential fires/emergencies to prevent or extinguish fires, mitigate hazards and rescue personnel from vehicles, office/accommodation buildings, welfare facilities, warehouses, fuel farms, hazardous products storage areas, and any other community areas required, using specialist equipment.
• Conducts all duties in line with company and community standard operating procedures.
• Is required to wear all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective clothing, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and chemical protection as required.
• Applies appropriate firefighting techniques and media application to manage additional potential incidents such as fuel spills, to mitigate the danger of fire or explosion.
• Conducts rescue operations and the safe removal of trapped or injured persons from, vehicles, aircraft and buildings, using specialist equipment such as power/hydraulic tools, breathing apparatus, PPV and ladders, which may also include working at height of confined space working.

What we are looking for in our candidates:

• 2-5 years of experience in fire/rescue services including two (2) years as a structural firefighter.
• Certified ‘Medically Fit’ for the role.
• Proficient in spoken and written English and Arabic.
• Middle East work experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Computer based dispatch/control systems.

Specific requirements

• 10 years of formal education.
• NFPA 1001 Firefighter I/II.
• NFPA 472/1072 HAZMAT Awareness Level.
• NFPA 472/1072 HAZMAT Operations Level.
• First Aid/Basic Life Support Certification.
