As a Manual QA Tester, you will work closely with a team of designers and developers working on long-term projects – part of an online retail business platform. Products include web sites as well as critical Windows desktop applications. You will have a major role to play in the quality assurance stage of software development and ensure that the software created meets the requirements. This involves executing test iterations, identifying defects, tracking and reporting results, and fixing the bugs before the product is delivered to end users. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications are stable, reliable and work as expected.
Responsibilities:
Work within a team, follow test policies and strategies for manual testing
Create test plans
Create and execute manual test scripts/test cases and analyze results
Support the team in understanding test estimates for planning, and provide metrics, analysis and report on the quality of product being produced
Review and analyze system specifications
Arrange Test Environment to execute the test cases
Evaluate product code according to specifications
Create logs to document testing phases and defects
Report bugs and errors to development teams
Conduct Review Meetings
Help troubleshoot issues
Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Requirements
Skills and Experience Required
BA/BS/MS in a relevant field (CS, engineering, etc) or equivalent hands-on experience
Strong experience in web/desktop testing
Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role
Working knowledge of software testing, test management software (e.g. qTest, Zephyr) and SQL and test methodologies
Able to create manual test scripts and test cases
Good knowledge of different phases of test life cycle
Knowledge or experience with C# and .NET Framework – a big plus
Knowledge or experience with Selenium, JMeter – a big plus
Familiarity with Agile methodology is preferable
Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
