The Technical Services Engineer-Avionics is responsible for the compliance of CAR M requirement in order to ensure the continuing airworthiness and to maintain the aircraft safety standard.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluation of all manufacturers/regulatory authority documents e.g. ADs; SBs; SILs; All Operators Telexes; and follow-up action by issuing appropriate documents such as EO; Technical Notices etc.
Ensure that all FAA/OCAA/EASA Airworthiness Directives are evaluated and executed within the compliance time given in the documents.
Preparation of cost benefit studies on major modifications and detailed Engineering Orders for incorporation on approval of management
Assist in troubleshooting of chronic defects that are repeated without being resolved.
Management of technical investigations and corrective action implementation (ASR, TOR, etc)
Maintain liaison with manufacturers, and overhaul facilities relating to technical matters.
Prepare modification, repairs, design deviations, salvage schemes of materials, and specifications of equipment etc.
Participate in the Technical aspects of major projects such as purchase of new equipment, new aircraft, major modifications, and the use of major maintenance contractors.
Initiate modification to improve performance and reliability and reduce costs of maintenance and overhaul without compromising Airworthiness Standards.
Monitoring high component removal rate and initiating follow up action to improve component and system reliability.
Evaluating related maintenance agreements for Avionics equipment.
Evaluate and coordinate with vendors so that chosen products are cost effective, reliable and meet the company’s requirements. Initiates purchase of chosen product.
Provide accurate and timely technical information to concerned party so that requirements or deadlines are met.
5 years experience as a Technical Services Engineer. 5 years as Avionics Licensed Engineer and 2 years in Technical Services.
General knowledge of aircraft avionics and components.
Full knowledge of avionics systems installed on the Company aircraft
Computer literate.
Ability to write technical documents for issue to maintenance and overhaul agencies.
Should have the ability to communicate efficiently with maintenance engineering, manufacturers and vendors on matters dealing with any arising problems.
