Group Program Management Office (PMO) is at the heart of this digital transformation. The PMO Office will work very closely with all Line of Business including Digital and Data, Operations and Subsidiaries, Corporate, Technology Services and Cyber Security. We are building this organization from ground up to be the new industry benchmark for modern and agile PMO’s globally. At the onset the PMO will build and execute the portfolio, program, project, and product management of all critical initiatives in Qatar Airways IT. We will learn and grow our strategy and execution as we deliver key products and onboard new leaders. In your role, you will manage the delivery of key business initiatives. At Qatar Airways you will take on senior project management level responsibility as a Sr. Digital Delivery Lead and will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Group PMO. Your industry experience in agile project management is crucial in building an organization that will manage effective kick-off, execution, and value delivery of mid to large scale programs. You will have the opportunity to lead or participate in building out the agile PPM and DevOps processes and tools that will be the standard in IT as well as leveraged across the company.
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience working in agile project delivery methodologies. Experience in working in agile/lean development methodologies Experience in complementary practices, tools and techniques: User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing, TFS, JIRA, Trello and MS Project. Good experience in Agile frameworks Scrum, Kanban or Scaled Agile Expertise in Agile Metrics like Lead time, Cycle time, Burn Down chart, Velocity and EBM(Evidence based management) Proven working experience in Large organization in product development and support Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continues improvement, empowerment, and raising transparency. Good leadership, decision making, strong communication and presentation skills, and adaptability to learn Good understanding of Software development lifecycle and coming from a development background on a lead technical role or functional role. Preferably Airline domain experience. Commercial background and/or supporting Infrastructure and software development teams will be an alternative Technical Skills required for the role
Agile Project Management
Have the experience to build outcome based roadmaps in partnership with business, define and deliver Minimum Viable Products (MVP), and follow agile principles and deliver business capability incrementally. Supports two or more Scrum Teams within an agile development. This will include supporting product development from product ideation to production rollout as well as driving the planning sessions for Product Increment. Help Product owner, other team members in crafting the strong product roadmap, backlog and sprint goal and drive the team towards self-and Self-empowerment. Act as the agile mentor/coach to the team members within in the agile team. Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using leadership skills in most cases and through formal channels, including escalation to senior stakeholders as required Senior Practitioner in Scale Agile or Kanban methodologies Ability to pick up quickly on domain architecture and upstream / downstream dependencies Good conflict resolution skills, leading sessions for outcome and coming up with creative solutions for project execution as well as problem resolution. Experience in vendor management, execution of projects in co-ordination with business users, other IT department stakeholders including solution architects, technical architects, procurement and contracts. This will include package implementation project or in-house developed products. Timely and accurate project progress reporting provided to IT and business executive level management stakeholders. Well versed with project management methodologies and ability to identify/manage risk, cost, issue and quality. Drive high performance and accountability for superior results and team engagement. Provide team members with timely, constructive feedback; mentor team members to deliver in fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance their professional growth; recognize and reward employees for accomplishments. Promote, train, support, and advocate Agile development methodologies and best practices. Contribute in business – IT strategy, work program planning and IT budgeting for assigned business units. Have experience managing projects with enterprise grade IT infrastructure or Information Security products, services, and processes. Must have a great understanding of what cloud is and why it matters to the business and software engineering agility. Prefer to have experience transforming legacy infrastructure to modern internal or external cloud services
Large Scale Project Management
As lead for the large scale projects, be able to create team structure, operating cadence, and appropriate reporting. Manage the performance and scope of the project to capture the intended business value and be accountable for delivering results. You will be able to manage one or more projects of an assigned Line of Business.
Portfolio Management/Business Relationship
Be able to assist the leadership team to execute portfolio strategy, realizing value in partnership with business units.
