As member of the IT team of Port of Duqm the objective of the mission will be to take the responsibilities of support, modify, enhance, adapt, and test features of the IT Applicative Landscape related to Container Terminal to improve business/operation efficiency and productivity of PODC. This includes review and analysis of user functions and activities, evaluation of current usage of Container Business Applications and try to utilize it to cover all current and future business needs.
We are currently seeking a skilled Business Applications Administrator with expertise in Container Terminal Systems and ROS (Remote Operator Stations) Software. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the management and optimization of our business applications, particularly those related to container terminal operations and ROS-based solutions.
2. Duties and Responsibilities
1- Financial:
• Assist in managing annual departmental budgets and perform periodic cost and productivity analysis to ensure optimal productivity and return on investment.
2- Operational:
• Administer and maintain container terminal systems, including TOS (Terminal Operating System) and related software applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to configure and customize container terminal systems to meet specific operational requirements.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the availability and reliability of terminal applications.
• Manage and oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of ROS-based software solutions used in robotic and automation applications.
• Ensure ROS software updates, patches, and enhancements are implemented effectively and without disruption.
• Configure, monitor, and maintain business applications, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to address application-related issues, enhancements, and upgrades.
• Provide end-user support and troubleshoot application-related incidents, escalating complex issues as necessary.
• Work with data integration teams to ensure seamless flow of data between container terminal systems, ROS solutions, and other relevant applications.
• Collaborate on data mapping, transformation, and validation to support accurate and timely data exchange.
• Perform testing and evaluation of new processes and implementation of new applications.
• Conducts or coordinates User Acceptance Test makes changes and corrections as needed for apps. Ensure sign off by the End Users on the validation of the UAT for prod release.
• Maintain thorough documentation of application configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Develop and deliver training materials to educate end-users on efficient utilization of container terminal and ROS software applications.
• Performs ongoing maintenance and review of applications systems and programs; troubleshooting identifies problems and develops appropriate solutions.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other relevant field.
Experience: [3-5] years of experience as a Business Applications Administrator or Similar with a focus on container terminal systems and ROS software.
· Special Skills & Knowledge:
· Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting business applications, with a strong understanding of container terminal operations.
· Experience in ROS software deployment, configuration, and integration into automation projects.
· Familiarity with database management systems and data integration concepts.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
· Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and systems.
