The Security and Service Trainer will develop, deliver and evaluate a range of Aviation Security and Rapiscan Systems training programs. This will include Security training, threat recognition training, operational training and maintenance training programs. The role holder will be responsible for training to the highest standards across the specified regulated and quality assured frameworks and will ensure all courseware and supporting documentation are correct, relevant and current for each course.
The Security and Service Trainer is responsible for the consistent delivery of required airport security customer training, including eLearning, instructor-led training courses and virtual classroom training for the Rapiscan Systems machine portfolio. This will include technical documentation and technical maintenance of customer machines.
This role will be based in Qatar, however we welcome applicants from both Qatar and the United Kingdom. The role holder is expected to deliver both Aviation Security Training and Rapiscan Systems equipment training, therefore must be proficient in both delivery frameworks and certified by the relevant Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Responsibilities
Deliver high quality training courses and training programmes to a variety of audiences in the English and Arabic languages; Drive curricula and training programmes to help stakeholders and customers become more knowledgeable and efficient with Rapiscan Systems product lines at the customer site; Take ownership and co-ordinate the delivery of training courses which have been assigned; Lead training programs which have been assigned, meeting various KPI targets, customer and contractual requirements as directed; Ensure all courses delivered meet regulatory body requirements as well as internal Export and Trade Compliance requirements as set out by the Global Director for Training and Education; Ensure training delivery meets current product specifications and business learning objectives; Meet minimum delivery standards, set out in the core competency framework, managed by awarding bodies and our training quality manager; Lead the transfer of technical knowledge to the customer for all products purchased and in use. This may involve creating technically accurate educational and training collateral; Provide formative assessment activities and use these to provide feedback to learners on their progress and how to improve their learning; Produce action, complete and submit all required documentation including learner inductions, training records, formative and summative assessments, assessment tracking and feedback within the required deadlines and as required by the Internal Quality Assurer; Monitor the learner’s progress and decide whether a learner has demonstrated competence and capability, identifying and providing any support needs and updating student records with details of progress; Enrol students onto courses using our Learning Management System (LMS) and meet all auditable requirements on a daily basis for training delivered; Ensure the information supplied for certifications and qualifications required to deliver and assess training are accurate and up to date at all times; Maintain, update and hold accurate student records following all auditable processes and requirements; Complete any other ad-hoc training duties when required, as directed by management – including supporting with other on-site service tasks. Support the Global Director for Training and Education with wider Customer Experience projects Qualifications
Experience:
Essential: Must be able to fully communicate in the English and Arabic languages. 4 years’ experience as an aviation or security trainer. Experience as an X-ray Screening Operator. Strong knowledge of Aviation Security regulation, i.e. ICAO, EU, DfT, IATA Must have the ability to work independently, with other trainers or team members, and part of a matrix management system. Able to produce and maintain a wide range of training materials and supporting documentation using systems such as Microsoft 365. Have strong administrative and self-auditing skills. Willingness to attend CPD sessions, briefings, workshops and courses. Experience with continuous assessment and quality assurance processes. Knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation. Knowledge of security screening methods and their implementation across industry. Desirable: Experience with LMS platforms. Previous experience in an X-Ray systems environment. Experience in a wide range of engineering or technical disciplines; electronics, electrical, electromechanical, PC’s, software, coding, mechanical etc. Experience within a security screening environment, e.g. airport security, cargo, customs. Qualifications:
Essential: The role holder must be able to successfully obtain a Background Check (CRC) and Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) -or Qatar government equivalent. Qatar Civil Aviation Authority recognised qualifications. UK Certified Instructor Number (CIN) or international equivalent. Award in Education and Training (AET Level 3) (preferred) or equivalent. Highly desirable: Must hold a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) qualification. Ability to deliver DfT Aviation Security syllabuses defined under the UK NASP IATA Dangerous Goods qualification
