Job purpose
Execute Instrument Maintenance Works for the assigned location, as Technical Service provider of maintenance and execution of minor projects, modifications in accordance with the technical standards to maintain the assets through: (1) Leading the design Maintenance instrument services on planned / un-planned maintenance works utilizing best practice. (2) Coordination and supervision of assets, products and maintenance work in the designated area, (3) Implement plans and coordinate instrument maintenance works; in order to ensure plant equipment availability, reliability & optimization of cost / resources while facilitating smooth operations of the plant to meet operational targets.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Accountable for availability of Instrumentations, Analyzers and Controls systems and communication system of the area
Ensure application of best work practices in execution of Instrumentations maintenance jobs.
Installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, calibrating, and testing a wide variety of industrial instrumentation such as control valves, transmitters, DCS, Fire and Gas System, ESD system and Controlling the pressure.
Maintains all instrumentation drawings in ‘as-built’ condition to reflect any modifications.
Maintained all safety critical element and any failure of SCE to be reported as per OQ standard.
Responsible for Instrumentations side of project implementation in assigned facilities.
Implements the Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan within his section and execution along with work backlogs.
Participate in HAZID, HAZOP & Design Review for new project in Gas network.
Prepares procurement plan for his section.
Responsible for preparing the LLF of instruments and its implementations
Participate in Management of Change (MOC) committee review meetings.
Ensure Instrument equipment maintenance history & reports are updated in SAP (CMMS)
Identify the critical issues, repetitive failure of Instrument equipment, done and the RCA Recommendations implemented for the area
Monitors staff attendance, attitude and implements discipline within the section.
Prepare annual leave plans
Directs, supervises, and controls all work for instruments maintenance and calibration.
Receives and analyses periodic reports on instruments maintenance and scheduled turnarounds and determines the best course of action for increasing the Section’s efficiency.
Provides full technical & manpower support during plants’ shutdown.
Determines long-term instrument maintenance policy and oversees detailed planning of maintenance activities and programs.
Review’s policies of warehouse materials/spare parts determine strategy of their handling and procurement and ensures availability.
Coordinates efforts within the Section to develop guidelines, specifications, best practices and procedures for maintenance of pressure, level, flow, temperature, vibration, GC, UFM and control valves.
Maintains technical expertise in functional areas of process instrumentation.
Ensures the maintenance and inspection plans on Instrument are updated and aligned with the maintenance and inspection of bests practices.
Coordinate master data, drawings, spare parts lists, interchangeability lists, maintenance plans, and email are available in SAP as well as, appropriated for inspection and maintenance purposes
Conduct toolbox meetings & risk assessment to establish the scope of work, HSE requirement & permit to work (E-PTW)

Internal: Field Operators, Shift Team Leader, Panel Operators, Maintenance Coordinator, Process Trainer, Technical Services Department, Sr. / Engineer Operations.
External: Ministries, Civil Defense, ROP and Neighboring Companies
Notable Working Conditions. Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.
Education requirements
Minimum Qualifications for this position is Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or similar
Language requirements
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) , Arabic – Native (desirable)
Background and experience
Competencies and skills
Knowledge of maintenance processes for Gas Network operations:
Knowledge of instrument control loops.
Familiar with Systems, Applications and Products in data processing (SAP).
Experience on Local control station/ Plant interface bus and DCS.
Good knowledge of modern maintenance technologies & maintenance Planning and execution of Instrumentation Equipment’s, Analysers, Calibrations, control systems, ESDs Experience and knowledge in project planning, cost control, contract development, installation, trouble shooting, and start-up.
Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field materials specifications and international standards.
Good experience in handling of Maintenance Contracts and shutdown related jobs.
Knowledge of:

Good knowledge in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and HSE plans.
