Job Purpose

Execution of all Concept related tasks at Upstream – E&P, Project Delivery – Engineering – Concept Engineering under Manager of Concept Engineering scope’s, acting as team player and owner of Concept engineering standards for projects, including modifications in accordance with the technical standards set to preserve the assets through: (1) Serve as OQ SME in their discipline and hence having the skills and know how to identify and troubleshoot issues related to Concept equipment operation & design to optimize availability and reliability and share best practices, (2) To define, identify and optimize codes and standards related to Concept in OQ. In addition to deploying and standardizing, the tools and (3) Provide timely technical solutions to improve, optimize project design, and technical specifications.

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• To define, identify and optimize guidelines or procedures related to concept engineering in OQ for upstream with particular emphasis to maximizing investment returns on capital projects related to exploitation natural resources in line with OQ investment & economic guidelines.
• Selecting the best concept scheme based on techno-commercial analysis and life cycle analysis.
• Considered as OQ SME in Concept Engineering and hence having the skills and know how to identify and streamline processes & procedures to assist assets and business lines to select best possible concepts.
• Responsible with Skill pool to identity technical gaps and development requirements for the staff related to his discipline.
• Supporting on in-depth analysis the measures for monitoring Process concept elements during project phase and ensure compliance to OQ code of practice and related.

Key interactions

Internal: Liaise with the colleagues and stakeholders for day-to-day work including Department managers, Maintenance, Operations, Technical Services, Engineering among others.

External: Acts as liaison between National Government offices and representatives, External regulators, lenders Environmental consultants, Neighboring industries across Oman, Universities and research organizations, Industry bodies, Ministers, and political decision-makers.

Notable Working Conditions. Office environment, frequent travel, and visits to the operational sites. Moderate to intensive computer screen use.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field.

Language Requirements

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) | Arabic – Native (desirable)
