Job responsibilities and duties:
• Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective procurement processes.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors based on their capabilities, pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and contractual terms for the organization.
• Maintain and update procurement records, including supplier information, contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Monitor and track procurement activities to ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods, services, and equipment.
• Monitor supplier performance, including quality of goods and services, delivery timelines, and responsiveness to issues or concerns.
• Resolve any supplier or vendor disputes or issues that may arise during the procurement process.
• Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and availability of goods and services to inform procurement decisions.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.
• Prepare reports and provide regular updates on procurement activities, including budget utilization, savings achieved, and supplier performance.
Skills and qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a procurement officer or in a similar procurement role. Min – 3-5 years experience
• In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.
• Familiarity with sourcing and supplier management.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred.
