Nair Systems is currently looking for VMWare Administrator for our Qatar operations with the following skill sets and terms & conditions. Daily Operations: Work on Problem, incident and change management Optimizing the virtual infrastructure by providing health check reports Monitor, troubleshoot and capacity planning of vSphere environment. Perform health check & Fix issues in the environment daily Coordinating with Application Team , for designing their upcoming projects Coordinating with Infrastructure Team, for any bug fix, patch update, security issues etc. Administration of vCenter Server, ESXi servers and VMs for client’s Internal Segment 3 x VMware 6.7 VCenters 135 x VMware ESXi 6.7 Physical Hosts Nearly 2800 VMs – including Windows. Linux, DMZ VMs Administration of vCenter Server, ESXi servers and VMs for IMS Segment 4 x VMware 6.5 VCenters 144 x VMware ESXi 6.5 Physical Hosts Nearly 900 VMs – all for IMS project Ensure virtual machines are available to the application owners with no downtime 24/7 Build, Deploy and configure VMs and templates as per project requirements Physical-to-Virtual (P2V), Virtual-to-Virtual (V2V) and Virtual-to-Physical (V2P) migration of Windows NT, 2000, 2003, 2008, and 2012 as well as Linux servers from VMware and Hardware Installation of vCenter servers, ESXi Host, Distributed switch and Clusters. Upgrading ESXi host & VMs using update manager and from CLI Applying patches and drivers using update manager and from CLI Creating standard and Distributed switch as per the project. Managing Port groups and network Policy as per the project design. Design uplink connectivity and failover as per the network design. Responsibilities: Administration of Virtualization environment in client’s IAAS team. The environment includes IAAS and IMS Implementation: Deploying Hardware , Hypervisor installation , Configuring virtual Network , vSphere Cluster ,Storage administration in hypervisor Design: Design of current vSphere environment in client’s IAAS. Design depends upon the application team and security team. Maintenance: Regularly maintaining the current Virtualization infrastructure, which includes design and installation of new release, upgrade and application patches. Performance: Regularly checking all the critical operation VMs and taking steps to fix the issues and provide better performance in the environment. Capacity Planning: Regularly monitoring the available capacity for the existing infrastructure and providing a forecasting resource requirement for the upcoming projects. Troubleshooting: Providing solution for any kind of infrastructure/datacenter issues. It includes finding root cause analysis of the issues and providing thorough resolution 24 X 7 on call support (In short am the only one person in the team.)
