Assistant Director of Finance

General duties include organizing and directing the activities of the Clerk’s Finance Department, supervise the day-to-day operations of front-line managers in administration, general accounting, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury management and other financial areas.

What you will be doing:

• Ensure timely and accurate production of monthly management reports including consolidating data from various sources for meaningful variance and other analysis

• Support in the planning, coordination and production of interim and annual group and entity level financial statements, accounting schedules and related external reporting deliverables

• Determine appropriate accounting treatment and internal policy for transactions in accordance with accounting standards and management reporting needs

• Oversee centralised group-wide lease management and accounting for IFRS16

• Implement internal control processes to enhance quality, consistency, and accuracy of reporting

• Assist in addressing queries from external and internal auditors

• Partner with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to provide financial analysis in support of forecasting and budget initiatives

• Lead the execution of monthly system closing

• Streamline intercompany reconciliations

• Handle full sets of statutory accounts for investment holding subsidiaries

• Drive improved efficiency and effectiveness across related processes

• Coach, guide and review work of team members

• Perform ad hoc assignments as and when required

Your experience and skills include:

• Degree holder and Qualified Accountant (CPA or equivalent)

• Audit experience with internationally recognised audit firms a definite plus

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience of which 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role

• Experience in preparing audit schedules, audit responses and financial statements preferred

• Experience in using SAP advantageous

• Strong analytical mind and interpersonal skills

• Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel

• Good command of spoken and written English

• Takes accountability for executing tasks to a high standard

• Able to work under pressure and be flexible when necessary to meet deadlines

• Takes the initiative to look at process and efficiency improvements

• Proactively seeks guidance and asks thoughtful questions

• A good team player working collaboratively with others
