Job Description
The Investment Manager is a primary point of contact for clients to
access the entire suite of investment capabilities, insights and
solutions offered by. This is achieved by working in close partnership
with the Relationship Manager in the day-to-day planning and servicing
for the client.
The individual leverages the insight and expertise of the Company and
the global and regional investment committees to provide advice around
long-term thematic investment opportunities, short-term tactical
trades and asset allocation. The Investment Manager employs a wide
range of asset classes and capabilities, leveraging the knowledge from
dedicated product specialists, to address clients’ needs holistically,
including lending and financing, deposits, discretionary and advisory
portfolio management solutions, capital markets, private markets,
alternative investments and wealth planning. Investment Manager will
have accountability for total investment AUM, revenue, asset retention
and contribution towards business mix goals.
Your Key Responsibilities
Representing our client’s Financial Consultant Team.
Scheduling and attending client meetings to work closely to capture
evolving short terms and long term client needs which ensures client
confidence in the advisor team.
Pursuing new client relationships.
Lead and manage a business Development Manager / paraplanner Qualifications.
Minimum five years experience within wealth management/ financial
advisory- no record of client dissatisfaction or regulatory sanctions.
Proven track record in client relationship management and acquisition.
Self-motivated, dynamic personality with an ability to work independently
Act as the central point of contact for clients’ investment needs /
advice and be responsible for increasing share of wallet from existing
clients
Assess clients’ overall risk appetite and keep client risk profiles
up-to-date and regularly reviewed
Own overall suitability and appropriateness of all investments for the
client; ensure that all corresponding checks are performed
Collaborate with the relationship manager on account behavior and flag
relevant updates, and on input for KYC
Collaborate closely with key internal partners, including
discretionary portfolio managers and entire range of product specialists to deliver the firm’s best capabilities, solutions and
investment thinking
Proactively identify needs and corresponding opportunities to originate solutions across capital markets, discretionary mandates, advisory mandates and alternative investments
Proactively seek to manage and control risks while maximizing financial returns in line with regulations.
Responsible for timely execution of investment trades and conduct
portfolio reviews with assigned clients and relevant internal partners, highlighting and filling any gaps where required
Support the Relationship Managers in their new client acquisition efforts through participation in client pitches and showcasing Marhaba investment.
Act within professional, legal and ethical boundaries and guidelines,
observing all internal and external compliance regulations and code of
ethics and conduct; flagging and managing reputational risks and
conflicts issues
Your Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience in portfolio construction and asset allocation, with
knowledge and understanding of private clients and their needs
8 or more years of relevant investment experience of which min of 5
years in wealth management
Fluency in English essential, additional languages such as Arabic desirable
Opportunistic/idea-driven investing
Experienced and comfortable in leading investment discussions in
one-on-one meetings and small groups
Evidence of past success at building a business by attracting assets,
principally as a result of the ability to quickly gain the confidence
of a client
Have a good understanding of the governing regulatory framework
including but not limited to applicable confidentiality / secrecy /
data protection regulations and cross border rules where relevant.
Self-starter and ability to work with teams across different locations
Willing and able to develop other staff, e.g., analysts

Prior experience within sales, business development and relationship
management preferably within the financial services or insurance
industry will be a big plus. We are open to consider experience in
sales from other industries like banking, real estate, hospitality etc
based on your aptitude to transition into a Financial Advisory role.
Good financial acumen is very important for this role alongside networking and sales skills.
Education qualification wise, you will at least have a Bachelor’s Degree/MBA or equivalent from a recognised Institution/University in
business, management, finance, marketing or commerce.
