Scope of Position

The Yoga (Wellness) instructor is under the guidance of the Fitness & Wellness Manager and within the limits of Mandarin Oriental Policies, ensures that all operational procedures, codes of conduct and standards of appearance set down by the Wellness and Fitness Manager are adhered to by all staff.  The Yoga (Wellness) instructor is to provide personal assistance to any individual booking private training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Support company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement
• Support company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Departmental Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement
• Support company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Guiding Principles and D.E.L.I.G.H.T. as part of ensuring Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement
• Keep work area clean and neat at all times
• To conduct complimentary wellness programmes, adhering to teaching guidelines and SOPs
• To conduct private wellness programmes, adhering to teaching guidelines and SOPs
• To conduct children’s yoga/physical activities where necessary
• Maintain inventory of yoga equipment/props
• To offer advise within the realms of knowledge relating to any guest concerns
• To monitor effectiveness and popularity of yoga programmes – advising Wellness and Fitness Manager of any necessary changes/additions etc.
• To conduct staff classes where appropriate
• To liaise with Fitness & Wellness manager to produce, prepare and execute complimentary and private wellness programmes
• To start and finish all appointments on time
• To follow Fitness Centre SOPs for all health and fitness activity bookings and private wellness bookings (this will include squash, pilates, tennis, golf, bicycle tours etc.)
• To attend and familiarise ones self in all programmes
• To review and confirm bookings for the day and the following day and to ensure that everything is booked correctly and efficiently
• Maintain all equipment in good order.
• To help assist in all equipment cleaning and maintenance checks thoroughly and diligently according to daily SOPs
• Put away all equipment left unattended by guests
• Communicate with Health and Fitness Manager in the development of skills
• Maintain flexibility in the times available for shifts.
• Have total commitment to and take full responsibility for all shifts rostered.
• To obtain Health and Fitness Managers approval for any changes to rostered shifts.
• To assist in the development of Marketing ideas for health, fitness and wellness programmes and retreats
• To liaise with Human Resources to run monthly staff fitness and wellness programmes
