Position Summary
MAG is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer with a networking background to support a set of telecommunication technologies which allow two or more locations to communicate by simultaneous two-way video and audio transmissions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to: Candidate will coordinate the initiation of VTC sessions for key leaders and government personnel Candidate will coordinate complex situations to w/Staff Officers, General Officers, and those unfamiliar with technical concepts or language. The candidate will conduct network/telecommunications troubleshooting as required to resolve communications failures. The qualified candidate will document troubleshooting procedures and operations procedures for conducting VTC sessions. will configure and fill cryptographic devices to communicate with DISA/DVSG and other units. Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
At least 7 years of VTC teleconference system experience. At least 2 of those years in a military environment. Percentage of Travel Required: 5%. Shall have detailed knowledge of H.323, H.320, H.264, G.711, G.722, G.728, H.261, H.263, and H.264, including how to change/enable these protocols to make sure a call bonds properly and optimize the VTC systems.Shall have detailed knowledge of Tandberg and Polycom VTC coder-decoder (CODEC) and equipment, including fluency in the functionality, capabilities, and operation of these devices. Shall have detailed knowledge of Tandberg and Polycom Multi-point capabilities including fluency in the functionality, capabilities, and operation of these devices.Shall have detailed knowledge of audio and video (A/V) concepts (i.e. how to set up and cable a room for VTC, where to put microphones to prevent feedback or audio issues, lighting, video, etc.).Shall have knowledge and familiarity of DISA/DVSG and site licensing, including fluency in the functionality, capabilities, and operation. Shall have knowledge and familiarity of encryption devices (KIV-7, KG devices, TACLANE devices, etc.) Must have knowledge of cryptographic fills, how to load an encryption device, how to verify the fill segments, and how to operate a Simple Key Loader (SKL).Shall have knowledge and familiarity with the different networks in use within United States Forces – Afghanistan (USFOR-A), and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Joint Coalition (IJC). Shall have communication and interpersonal skills. Education The minimum level of education required is: High School Diploma
Desired Requirements
Engineering experience working with video teleconferencing communications technologies, and networking hardware and software. Secret Security Clearance
