OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Oversees and supervises the overall quality/metallurgical aspects of all products from each production center. Passed final disposition on materials that do not conform to standards.
Job relevant information
- Reports to the Engineering manager all matters about Product Quality in all MRC operations.
- Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs.
- Oversees/directs the personnel of the Quality Control Section of MRC.
- Passes final judgment on materials with non-conformity report.
- Investigates and analyze the cause of non-conformity and advise production to prevent a recurrence.
- Conducts quality focus meetings with production and maintenance.
- Supports commissioning activities during any start-up phase
- Researches and writes statistical/technical reports and submits them to the Engineering manager to aid decision-making.
- Enforces good standards of housekeeping in the areas worked.
- Performs other similar and associated duties as required by the Engineering Rolling Manager.
Follow company rules and regulations, labor laws, and management directives.
Skills:
- Excellent leadership
- Good knowledge of MS Office (excel, word, PowerPoint…)
- Excellent statistical analysis
- Root cause analysis
- Ability to interpret technical metallurgical problems.
- Ability to accurately compile, interpret and apply different data to improve metallurgical practices
- Excellent report writing
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Metallurgy/Chemistry/Mechanical, or related field.
- Good knowledge of metal rolling operations and downstream use of the material.
- Required excellent spoken and written English.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in Metallurgical process/Quality Control in Aluminium Rolling and coating.
- Detailed technical/metallurgical knowledge of Aluminium rolling operations.
- Experience with international quality standards such as ISO 9000
