LBS Data Services Hiring for Research Associate Job at Dubai Full Time

We are a consulting + data services company working with leading technology companies around the world. We are currently seeking a research assistant to provide support for our growing data and machine learning services.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

-Gathering representative text samples from online sources in various industries

-Performing basic market research in different industries

-Providing short language samples in the form of simulated conversations for different settings (e.g., ordering from a restaurant; applying for a loan)

-Recording short audio samples with different types of background noise

-Transcribing audio files

-Some, very light, translation work (possibly)

-Tagging data sets

You would be an ideal candidate if you:

-Have experience working virtually
-Possess close attention to detail

-Successfully meet given deadlines

-Enjoy an independent working environment

-University degree in any field is preferred but not required

The working hours for this position are flexible. Due to COVID all work can be performed virtually from your home.

A world-wide market place means NLP systems must be optimized to a variety of languages, cultures, and use-cases. Consider, for instance, a customer service chatbot designed for the US fast food industry. In order to serve customers around the country, this bot should go far beyond simply mapping American English speech to words. Rather, it should also recognize that “soda”, “pop” and “soft drink” may all refer to the same type of drink. In addition, the system should handle a wide variety of accents, idiomatic expressions, colloquial/slang speech, as well as identify whether a customer is happy or disgruntled with the service they are receiving. Your knowledge of specific languages and cultures will help us fine-tune our data to new target markets.

Pay: AED55.00 per hour
