CCM Supervisor is responsible for supervising all the production activities of CCM, Billet yard, cooling Bed, mold preparation area and Tundish preparation area. Performs related activities for process improvement as directed by immediate superior

• Complying to IMS system (QMS, EMS & OHSAS) requirements by reading.
• Following all the company policies, Regulations of (govt.& companies) and securing the company’s Assets in line with code of conduct.
• Minimizing production cost with minimum usage of resources such as spares, consumables and tools and optimizing manpower utilization.
• Reading and understanding all the work procedures, work instructions, quality documents and grade specifications concerning his area of responsibility.
• Performing toolbox meeting to address all the safe working practices, INIR’s, Hazard & Risk Identification’s, Ladder Safety and Housekeeping.
• Ensuring that all tools/tackles and consumables are available near the shop floor all the time to avoid any kind of delays.
• Following shift relieving policy (handover &takeover of shift at work site) and, he must ensure himself available at work site during working hours.
• Ensuring that pre-operation inspection, equipment trials are carried out by the crew and any abnormalities noticed to be resolved immediately, pending issues to be mentioned in SAP notification & reported to immediate superior.
• Ensuring readiness of CCM and auxiliary units, including process parameter loading done by his crew members.
• Performing ccm simulation and process parameter setting and interlocks checking.
• Preparing start up checklist and seeking clearance to maintenance regarding CCM readiness.
• Monitoring tundish shell temperature, tundish lining condition, slag quantity in tundish and Slag condition.
• Supervising all activities related to cast sequencing, breaking and tundish preheating.
• Supervising tundish change, mold change, mold cover repair, overflow box and ladle hood change as per requirement.
• Initiating / performing trials for new methods or new materials and developing the improvement projects / cost saving projects.
• Taking the major role for new developed activities and non-routine activities to give training / guidelines to his crew.
• Monitoring all KPI & process parameters & control on Sequence change & Mold Change time.
• Ensuring that Metal Chemistry, lifting temperature, Mn / S ratio, %Cu, %S, % Al values are within tolerance acceptable level.
• Coordinating with LRF for sequence connection in time and superheat control for achieving the productivity.
• Feeding back to Ladleman/Refractory-in-charge of ladle issues such as not free open or did not opened, backsplashes, slide-gate steel leakage, and lip jam.
• Inspection of all critical ladles & high life ladles (compulsory for above 50 & 100 life), rest of the ladles in circulation & out of circulation along with Refractory SIC / EAF Supervisor once in a shift before sending them for tapping.
• Coordinating with EAF/LF supervisor for Productivity plan, Sequence breaks, CCM planned / un-planned activities and continuous communication and Coordination as per the requirement.
• Monitoring & getting feedback from EAF regarding charge mix, TTT, Furnace Refractory repairs and electrode change / adjust activities.
• Inspecting and measuring billet physically, Surface and dimensions checking for every new sequence start up or re-stranding or every alternative heat during sequence casting.
• Inspecting Molds sent for repairs, Cu tube changing, break out, billet quality problem for checking Mold assembly and Cu tube erosion & foot roll alignment.
• Coordinating with tundish maintenance team for CNC mechanism performance and tundish nozzle centering.
• Coordinating with refractory team for tundish lining performance, spare tundish availability, tundish covers preparation, ladle covers, and mold covers repair.
• All equipment’s performance monitoring and, resolving the issue with maintenance, generating PM notification for pending issues. During breakdowns, shutdowns and major stoppages he must provide his support to maintenance departments & carry-out activities likes equipment cleaning / maintaining and painting etc.
• Monitoring tundish and billet yard cranes conditions and their performance. Check List verification & resolving the issues with maintenance.
• Handling the entire emergency and abnormal situation as per the SOP’s guidelines and superior’s instructions.
• Reviewing all CCM related procedures from time to time and prepare contingency plan with superiors for safe handling of emergency situations.
• In addition to duties listed above the employee shall follow all reasonable instructions related to his line of work given by his superior.
• Log a report in Level 2 system related to his shift operation status, including heat deviations, delays, billet quality, nozzle consumption, strand closure and other abnormal conditions encountered.
• Coordinating & communicating with all other departments like EAF, LRF Ladle bay, Refractory, Additive Bay, Maintenance, MRSS, ASP, WTP, logistics, Safety and stores.
