An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and experienced professional to join the Sports & Leisure team at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa to manage all areas within the Sports & Leisure department, pertaining to manning coverage, cleanliness, safety and the smooth operation of the Sports & Leisure reception, gymnasium, pools, and overall facilities.
Your key responsibilities will include: Drive membership sales (new and retained) Oversee and maintain high standards of cleanliness in all fitness and activity areas in the Sports & Leisure department Oversee the duty schedule for the Sports & Leisure team ensuring that adequate manning coverage is maintained during the opening and closing hours of the department Attend regular management and departmental meetings, as and when required Design and promote activities to meet Guest demand and generate revenue Prepare the monthly activities time table and liaise with other instructors (internal and external) Provide friendly, courteous and professional service at all times Participate in any scheduled trainings and activities Identify training needs of colleagues and provide training or other activities to meet these requirements in a timely manner Maintain and monitor the attendance numbers for fitness classes weekly and adjust schedule at month end Oversee guest feedback and guest complaint procedures Prepare, update and follow all Standard Operating Procedures in regards to the operations of the department Oversee and help further develop the sports and activity programs for both adults and children at the hotel, maximizing revenue whilst maintaining the quality of service Respond to members’ and guests’ Guest Comment Form feedback or complaints Carry out any other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the management About You:
In order to be considered for this role, you will have gained an internationally recognized qualification in the Sports & Fitness Industry, or equivalent field, and you should have a minimum of 2 years leadership experience in a 5 star luxury hospitality environment. Sports & Fitness-related certificates is an advantage, and experience in the Middle East is desirable.
It is essential that you have strong command of the English language, both spoken and written. You should have knowledge and experience with integrated fitness approaches, and strong market and competitiveness awareness, and membership sales and relationship building experience, possessing strong problem-solving, reasoning and analytical abilities. You should be computer literate with good working knowledge of computer applications such a MS Office. You also must have effective service recovery skills with a passion for customer care, and a high level of social, interpersonal and organizational skills.
