Overview: We are seeking an experienced Application Development and Support Specialist to join our team focused on Airline Passenger Service Systems (PSS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, application support, and a deep understanding of airline industry operations. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our PSS applications and providing ongoing support to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Development:
1. Design, develop, and maintain applications related to Passenger Service Systems, including reservations, ticketing, check-in, and baggage handling.
2. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
3. Implement best practices in software development, including coding standards, testing, and documentation.
Application Support:
1. Provide technical support for PSS applications, troubleshooting issues and resolving incidents in a timely manner.
2. Monitor application performance and conduct regular system maintenance to ensure high availability and reliability.
3. Work closely with users to understand their needs and enhance application functionality.
Collaboration:
1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, customer service, and IT, to ensure seamless integration of PSS applications with other systems.
2. Participate in project planning, estimation, and execution to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
Continuous Improvement:
1. Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to airline PSS and application development.
2. Identify opportunities for process improvements and propose solutions to enhance system efficiency and user experience.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. 6-8 years of experience in application development and support, preferably within the airline or travel industry.
3. Strong programming skills in [specific languages, e.g., Java, C#, Python] and familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
4. Experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
