Under the supervision of the Material Readiness Officer in the Material Maintenance Department, the Data Collection Specialist serves as primary back-up to the Lead Admin Spec/Data Collector, performing a wide variety of administrative and coordination duties related to all aspects within the Maintenance Department. The Data Collection Specialist reports directly to and works in direct conjunction with the Material Readiness Officer, responsible for gathering data as it pertains to the Maintenance Operations and compiling that data to be turned into reports that are tracked and forwarded to the Government such as CDRLS and other requirements. Collects and put together Personnel data so that Daily Perstrat goes into the Company on time. Works issues involving Badges, Vacations, Certificates and others that applies to the Manning. Tracks Accidents, Safety Reports, and Staffing so that the right numbers are reported upwards. Knows how to track data coming utilizing the STAMIS Reports produced by the Department. A successful data specialist must collect, organize, merge, track, and analyze data; recommend adjustments as required; provide administrative and special project support; facilitate the development of new databases; and maintain and enhance existing databases. The Data Collection Specialist must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be familiar with statistical analysis and use of statistical software. Serves as primary back-up / fill-in for the Lead Admin Spec/ Data Collection Clerk covering all aspects of materiel readiness on the contract.

Working Environment
Work is generally conducted in an office environment. However, duties may occasionally involve working outside with a potential exposure to extreme temperatures.
Physical Activities
Work may require heavy lifting up, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and Camp/ Base policies.
