Job Description:

The OSP/ISP Construction Technical Support candidate plans and prepares drawings for new, and removal or rearrangement of existing, overhead or underground lines, cables, and conduits to obtain optimum and economical utilization of communications facilities. The OSP/ISP Construction Technical Support analyzes traffic loads, available and existing lines, and estimates or forecasts of projected traffic to determine new lines or rearrangements and removals required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install pits and ducts (conduit and manholes) for installation and maintenance of fiber optic cable distribution infrastructure, to include “in-hole” cable racks and identification tags.
• Install cable into the Cable Plant Infrastructure, to include the installation into buildings and manholes.
• Install, terminate, test and repair CAT5E cable infrastructure into buildings to include patch panels and cables, racks and cabinets, raceways/cable ladders, and termination jacks (keystones).
• Plot and track a cabling plan resembling a small city.

Job Requirements:

• 7 years of operational experience
• US Secret Clearance
• Knowledge of some Phone Installer work
• Technical documentation skills
• Equivalent work experience as defined in the labor category qualifications
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a comprehensive background check
