Process Management: · Responsible for reviewing prescriptions issued by the physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy, appropriateness of medication, and determine formulas and ingredients needed.· Responsible for dispensing medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.· OTC: respond to patients’ symptoms and advise on medicines for sale in pharmacies.· Selling and dispensing of prescribed and non-prescribed medicines and general items to customers in a professional and ethical manner.· Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management.· Achieving daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets.· Using selling skills to recommend alternative OTC medicine and items to customers in order to maximize sales.
Compliance with Health Regulatories· Complies with local drug regulatory laws as regulated by DHA/HAAD/MOH like drug enforcement administration, dispensing medicine and others.· Maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.· Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.· Provides drug information such as dosing, compatibilities and formulary substitutes to nursing, doctors and other health care practitioners.· Assuring pharmacy confidentiality and patient privacy at a high priority.· Ensuring that the compliance of zero tolerance on the selling of expired product.· Managing and minimizing regulatory risk in terms of stock recording, and labelling HAAD regulations· Ensuring the quality of medicines supplied to patients.
Customer Management· Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.· Communicates with and treats pharmacy’s customers in a professional manner and also ensures to have all the queries of the customer answered.· Educate customers/patients about dosage, drug reactions and storage of medicines at a professional level as per training manuals and SOPs.· Develop positive business relationships with customers and suppliers at the Pharmacy level to achieve growth.· Ensuring exceptional customer service as per SOPs and training manuals.
Product and Inventory Management· Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste.· Monitor stock levels and resolve discrepancies if any.· Responsible for all stocks lying within the pharmacy, that they are assigned, based on the percentage of goods sold.· Liquidating Expiry and having a clear focus on the push list.· The pharmacist must ensure to maintain a healthy stock level and liquidate all near expires to reach to zero expiry of OTC products. Moreover, she/he need to put efforts in maintaining a healthy stock of chronic medications.· Responsible for having correct brand category and product layout in place.· Responsible for having the highest standard of product presentation in place.· Completing replenishment of inventory in pharmacy.· Minimizing expiry through effective management of stock purchasing.· Being aware of potential for stock loss through internal and external theft as well as systems errors and take necessary steps to minimize.· Maintains records for controlled substances and removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.· Maintaining data base of customers and products such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.·
Team Management· Directs Pharmacy Executive, Sales Promoters in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.· Assign responsibilities to the pharmacy executive, sales promoter, and the supporting staff.· Manage and monitor their day to day task assignments.· Train other medical personnel on matters pertaining to the pharmacy.· Ensuring to maintain a positive culture within the team and ensuring to have no violations as per the health authority guidelines.· Notifying and reporting incidents to the HR and the management when required.
Insurance Management· Ensure submission of claims to on monthly basis.· Handle Insurance updates/portal issues, coverage/non-coverage update in the Pharmacy.· Insurance Rejection claims with inadequate reason shall be the sole responsibility of Pharmacist dispensing the same.· Handling cash/credit/insurance sales and reconciliations daily.
