JOB OVERVIEW Assist the Powerplant Department with material management. This involves, but not limited to, forecasting projected future consumption of materials, sourcing, pre-purchase approval review, post-purchase technical review of the paperwork, BTB trace review for LLP’s, managing material from source to final destination, managing the material through the shop process and ensuring that the material and it’s technical information is accurately reflected on the company’s management system (TRAX).
• Accurately and effectively manage large volumes of material movement and ensure our Management System (TRAX) is updated accordingly in a timely manner..
• Ensuring compliance with Materials Receiving Inspection procedures.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluation of new company aircraft for airworthiness compliance to determine Aircraft Power Plant / APU modifications that may be required.
• Review and process Engineering Requests (ER’s) by providing Airworthiness data as required.
• Timely implementation of all ADs to ensure full Regulatory compliance.
• Review multiple vendor options and pre-approve purchases.
• Work Closely with Material Vendors.
• Carry out Materials Receiving Inspections as per DHL procedures. Receive Components onto our Management System (TRAX) and ensuring all data is accurately reflected.
• Work Closely with Shop Customer Managers.
• Building and managing external relationships.
• Manage the LLP BTB Folders for each Engine/APU for accuracy & currency.
• Soft Life Management for LRU’s and Non LLP components.
• Manage material movements for Engine / APUs going to shop.
• Manage material movement for Engines/APU going through the shop process.
• Provide technical and advisory support to the Maintenance, Quality Department, Stores and Flight Operations Departments.
• Production of Business Case Analyses (BCAs).
• Evaluation of potential engines/APUs for procurement.
• Lead / Push reliability for targeted materials such as Turbine Blades.
• The assessments and analysis of Manufacturer’s Alert Service Bulletins, Service Bulletins, Service Letters and Fleet Team Digest notifications and making recommendations concerning the enhancement of aircraft Power Plant/APU reliability.
• Assessment of Power Plant / APU Systems related future requirements Mandated by Airworthiness Authorities.
• Any reasonable request from DHL Management.
• Liaise with vendors and Civil Aviation Authorities.
• Forecast future material consumption, source, review technically and purchase.
• Manage material movement from source to destination and liaise closely with shop to manage material movement within the shop repair process.
• Ensure all relevant technical data is represented accurately on the company’s management system (TRAX).
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in either (i) an Airline Technical Services Powerplant role or (ii) an Engine Overhaul Facility Technical role.
• The Technical Services Engineer, Power Plant will be a graduate or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
• Experience using My Boeing Fleet, General Electric and the Aerdata Stream application would be considered an advantage.
• GE CF6-80A / C2 CAMO Technical Experience a distinct advantage.
• Experience with the TRAX Maintenance systems or other similar maintenance software would be considered an advantage.
• Experience reviewing Engine LLP / APU BTB Trace packages.
• Experience putting together Engine / APU LLP BTB trace packages.
• Experience working within a Logistics environment Receiving Inspection, Procurement, issuing Purchase Orders etc.
• The candidate should be fluent in written and spoken English, enough to communicate at all levels in required Technical terms.
