Job Summary

The instructor will plan, develop and deliver instruction in Information Systems – Network and Systems Administration courses to students enrolled in a variety of college-level academic programs. S/he will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment. The instructor will liaise with industry and other educational institutions; participate in industry advisory committees and coordinate, manage and control projects within the specified program area. Instructors will keep course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development/improvement plans. All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the College and beyond.

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.

Qualifications

• PhD in either Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related discipline, from a recognized, accredited university.
• A minimum of five (5) years of employment experience as a practitioner/professional within the relevant discipline.
• 10+ years of employment experience with a combination of experience as a practitioner/professional within the relevant discipline as well experience in a supervisory/management role within the relevant discipline.
• Teaching experience in a post-secondary, adult training, or industry training environment.
• Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Education (e.g. Post-secondary Education, Adult Education or Vocational Education).
• Record of successful participation/leadership in applied research projects.
• Experience in leadership and innovation in technology-based projects.
• English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 7.0 and above.

Professional Certification

• Recognised certification from a professional association related to specialty: e.g. CIPS, CTAB, ABET (IEEE), CISSP, etc.
