Job Overview:
The operations director will be in charge of the coffee shop’s daily activities between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. In addition to providing outstanding client experience, this leadership position is in charge of making sure the company operates smoothly, profitably, and efficiently. All operational tasks, such as hiring, inventory control, supply chain management, quality assurance, and customer service, will be overseen by the operations director. The ideal applicant will be passionate about the coffee business, possess excellent leadership abilities, and have a thorough understanding of how businesses operate.
Key Responsibilities:
•Operational Leadership:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the coffee shop, ensuring that everything from customer service to inventory management runs smoothly. Maintain high standards of service and quality at all times.
•Team Management:
Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of baristas, kitchen staff, and other operational employees. Hire, train, and schedule staff while ensuring that all roles are appropriately staffed at all times. Foster a positive, inclusive work culture that encourages teamwork and high performance.
•Financial Management:
Develop and manage budget, including forecasting, expense control, and setting financial goals. Monitor and analyze financial performance to ensure profitability. Ensure proper cash handling, accounting, food costing and reporting procedures.
•Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
Oversee inventory control, ensuring that coffee beans, supplies, equipment, and other goods are stocked adequately without overordering. Develop relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiate pricing, and manage deliveries. Implement systems to track usage and minimize waste.
•Customer Experience:
Ensure a top-notch customer experience through high-quality products, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Address customer feedback, resolve complaints, and continuously improve service quality.
•Quality Control:
Implement and maintain strict quality control standards for coffee, food offerings, and overall customer experience. Monitor product consistency and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
•Marketing & Promotions:
Work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional strategies, loyalty, and sales. Participate in community outreach efforts and collaborate with local businesses to expand brand presence through marketing representatives.
•Compliance & Health & Safety:
Ensure that the business adheres to all local laws and regulations, including health and safety codes. Conduct regular inspections of the shop to ensure compliance and maintain a clean, safe environment for both guests and staff.
•Technology & Systems Management:
Oversee the use of POS systems, inventory stock management, and scheduling tools. Ensure the smooth operation of all technology platforms and recommend improvements as needed.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
•Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior operations or management role in a hospitality or retail environment, preferably in the coffee or foodservice industry.
•Strong understanding of coffee operations, including espresso equipment, brewing techniques, and coffee product quality.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•Strong financial aen with experience managing budgets, analyzing performance metrics, and controlling costs.
•Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
•Knowledge of inventory management, supply chain logistics, and vendor relationships.
•Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
•Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including food safety and cleanliness standards.
•Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
•Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
