Make your mark as Structural Engineer at Boskalis Offshore Energy and work for prestigious and challenging offshore projects!

As a structural engineer, you will be working for the Global Engineering department of the Boskalis Offshore Energy division. This department is responsible for the strength verification of the vessels in the fleet and designing of various temporary works, structures and providing technical support to various business units/department within the Offshore Energy division. These often relate to complex projects, an area where Boskalis is an international leader–in the sustainable energy and oil & gas sectors, including work related to offshore wind farms and oil platforms. We work with state-of-the-art equipment that meets the highest quality and safety requirements. Provide “up to date” engineering advice and support and assist in the development and improvement of structural engineering working methods, tools and equipment.

We are looking for a pragmatic and solution-oriented engineer with an eye to safety. In the role of Structural Engineer, you will be able to rely on your technical affinity and experience to make a stable contribution to our team. You understand the dynamics of the contracting world, you are a team player who finds it easy to switch between the client, the crew of a vessel, external stakeholders and colleagues.

Your responsibilities as a Structural Engineer:

• Prepare reports with design and verification calculations for all structural works within Scope, Budget and Schedule.
• Develop various concepts for design and advice on the most suitable solution for the problem.
• Verification of drawings to ensure that these match with engineering performed.
• Initiate and document good engineering practices, tools and departmental standards.
• First point of contact during construction and fabrication of the designed items.
• Managing design and verification works at subcontractor engineering firms.
• Your Typical Deliverables: Sea fastening analyses, Global Hull Analyses, Lifting point verification, Global strength verifications of vessels, Jackets and Topsides, On Bottom Stability analyses, Strongpoint verifications, Deck load diagrams etc.

Your qualities
You can make your mark as Structural Engineer if you have:

• Recognized MSc or BSc Degree in Marine, Mechanical, or Aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience engineering in the Offshore field, Practical Offshore experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Class rules for vessels (LR, BV, ABS), offshore structures (DNV, API) and Operational guidelines (DNVGL) used by MWS.
• Able to write Basis of Design, Design Briefs and specifications.
• Strong insight on constructability.
• Well versed in FEA packages preferably FEMAP, and Mathcad.
• A good command of spoken English and academic reporting skills.
