Job Title: Civil Project Engineer

Location: Sohar, Oman

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will not only excel in project execution but also possess the ability to prepare RFQs and BOQs effectively. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the successful completion of our projects while maintaining cost efficiency and accuracy in procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Scope Definition:

1. Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
2. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
3. Ensure alignment of project goals with the company’s strategic objectives.

Resource Management:

1. Identify and allocate the necessary resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, for project execution.
2. Work closely with the procurement team to source and acquire materials and equipment on time and within budget.
3. Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations as needed to optimize project efficiency.

Team Leadership and Coordination:

1. Lead and motivate project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
2. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project goals, expectations, and progress.
3. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment to maximize team performance.

Quality Control and Assurance:

1. Establish and enforce quality control processes to ensure work meets industry standards and project specifications.
2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues promptly.
3. Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project quality.

Risk Management:

1. Identify potential project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
2. Monitor and assess project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Take proactive measures to mitigate and resolve issues that may impact project success.

Timeline Adherence:

1. Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule, tracking critical milestones and deadlines.
2. Monitor progress against the schedule and take corrective actions to address delays or deviations.
3. Ensure projects are completed on time or ahead of schedule whenever possible.

Budget Management:

1. Maintain strict control over project budgets, tracking expenses and costs against the approved budget.
2. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project spending.
3. Prepare regular budget reports for management review.

Client Communication:

1. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
2. Provide regular updates on project progress, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly.
3. Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Documentation and Reporting:

1. Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including plans, reports, and change orders.
2. Generate comprehensive project reports for internal and external stakeholders.
3. Ensure all project documentation is organized and accessible for future reference.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

1. Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental protocols at project sites.
2. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
3. Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility among project teams.

Qualifications:

• Experience in Oman/GCC Nations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in civil project management, including RFQ and BOQ preparation.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction processes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
