Main Objectives
Assists in directing and supervising the activities within the Quality Assurance section. Responsible for assisting in carrying out of regular inspections throughout the Unit, Terminal Catering and External Catering areas and facilities to ensure hygienic standards are maintained at all times. The Senior Quality Assurance Officer is also responsible for the day to day monitoring of food safety practices within the Unit.
Main Duties
o Assists and supervise the activities of the assigned personnel in Quality Assurance Section.
o Performs supervisory duties as established by the Supt. QA and Catering Management for the position.
o Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the ISO 22000/HACCP.
o Carries out regular inspections for all catering areas and facilities, and liaises with all parties concerned where hygiene and food safety work may affect operation needs for remedial action under the supervision of SQA.
o Ensure proper filing of all the necessary ISO 22000/HACCP documents.
o Assist in investigating customer complaints and ensure agreed corrective actions are in place.
o Support during customer audits by ensuring all the standards are in place, the facilities is up to the highest hygiene standards and all the documentation is readily available.
o Reports to SQA on any defects to the building or its equipment, inadequate techniques of food handling and when food condition and safety are affected.
o Supervises carrying out regular checks of H.A.C.C.P. / Food Safety Management areas such as storage temperatures, cooking temperatures, cooling times, portioning temperatures and delivery to aircraft temperature.
o Supervise the monitoring and of the specifications of meals and check whether they adherence to specifications of the customers.
o Assist in performing the quality audits at the suppliers’ premises.
o Monitors and advises all the staff on personal hygiene in food handling.
o Monitors all food handling techniques from receipt of goods to dispatch into aircraft with particular reference to refrigeration and personal cleanliness and reports back to SQA.
o Assist in ensuring that all concerned staff are trained and are their training records are up to date relating to the hygiene/food safe handling and conduct training when necessary.
o Follow up and ensure compliance with the standard allergens control procedures
o To carry out and complete any other reasonable request of the management of the company.
Comply with the Company and Airport authorities’ health, safety, and security regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
o Secondary School education (12 Years).
o Diploma or Course in Food Technology / Safety or related subjects.
Experience:
3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in the food industry including HACCP and ISO.
Other Essential Requirements:
o Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
o Ability to work well with others within a culturally diverse environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
