JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

An exciting opportunity exists to join the BAE Systems majority owned Joint Venture company ‘Saudi Development Training’ (SDT) as English Language Teacher to be based in Dhahran.
BAE Systems Saudi Development and Training (BAES SDT) operates two main streams of business, one being Training Solutions delivering training contract for a variety of customers and the other being Technical Capability Services which provide skilled staff to support customer operations.
The purpose of this role is to carry out all aspects of English Language Training of students for BAESSDT which includes classroom delivery, placement and progress testing / marking, materials selection, preparation and development, syllabus development, implementation of courses, record keeping.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Selecting and developing appropriate course material to match students’ abilities and requirements
Independently delivering training courses and carrying out the associated administration
Providing continuous assessment of students’ learning progress
Documenting work as necessary – attendance / progress reports / lesson plans / schemes of work /assessment plans
Preparing students for appropriate external English Language qualifications (mainly IELTS)
Counselling students with regard to their progress in order to maintain motivation
Developing learning materials to improve skills and knowledge of grammar and vocabulary
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
University degree in any subject (English or Modern languages preferred)
CELTA or equivalent (120 hours incl observed teaching). DELTA preferred
Extensive teaching experience in company or language school, Middle East experience preferred.
Evidence of ability to function independently as well as part of team.
Experience of preparing students for IELTS exams / other UCLES exams.
Experience in delivering Technical English training (aviation engineering preferred) in a technical training institution
Experience as Examiner for IELTS / UCLES exams (KET, PET, FCE etc.)
Knowledge and experience of using and developing CALL materials and facilities
Specific IELTS preparation and technical English training experience.
Experience of developing in-house teaching material to a high standard.
Non-teaching work experience in a technical environment (aviation engineering if possible).
