Responsibilities:
The role of the Construction Manager is to ensure satisfactory execution and consolidation of on site construction activities on time, within budget and according to specification.
Oversee and administer the daily reports, to ensure effective performance of all involved and ensure safety requirements are fulfilled.
Ensure all materials necessary are on site and take any action necessary to maintain such status.
Liaise with other project personnel, and subcontractors.
Provide supervision and guidance to those people he is responsible for.
Review subcontractor’s invoices.
Ensure compliance with the stated quality requirements of the project.
Incorporate approved contract variations.
Administer supply / subcontract work orders and ensure the purchase order requirements are followed.
Liaise with the client representative and attend meetings.
Review and report progress status and estimate time and cost to completion of each activity.
Review and comment on work method statements, inspection and test plans and QC plans submitted by subcontractors.
Control works to prevent non-conformances occurring.
Development of construction systems.
Detail liaison with suppliers to ensure conformance of materials supplied to project.
Experience
15 to 20 years post-graduate experience within a construction related to infrastracture and at least 15 of which in a managerial position.
