Job Overview: Environment, Health and Safety Supervisor
Acts as the primary Environment, Health and Safety Focal point for the project, operations and supports the Management to address construction challenges, thus leading the execution of project and operation in accordance with the corporate area guidelines and operating standards.
Manage, monitor and advise on all matters related to Environment, Health and Safety and issues.
Work with contractors, review their construction documents and assure implementations for all plans.
Advisory role to project & construction in the development and improvement of Environment, Health and Safety management systems, standards and processes
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Knowledge and understanding of company and project specific Environment, Health and Safety requirements as per contract, scope of work applicable regulatory requirements and project deliverables.
Having experience in construction activities
Develops plans such as Environment, Health and Safety, Emergency Response Plan & environment management plan, and other relevant specific EHS deliverables and monitor implementation.
Develop and oversee plans to meet project objectives & targets aligned to the area and project
Interface with contractors within the project on Environment, Health and Safety issues and activities
Understanding and monitoring of controls of Environment, Health and Safety related risks (e.g. aspects and impacts) and other risk reviews
Develops Environment, Health and Safety audit plans and conducts audits
Regular participation in site inspections with focus on EHS practices and compliance
Participate in reviews, operations safety weekly/monthly, internal and project meetings
Preparation and maintenance of EHS activity plans
Ensure EHS related incidents are reported, investigated and corrective actions are implemented to avoid recurrence of similar incident
Provide EHS input into look ahead plans and reports based on project schedule
Establish EHS program and campaigns in line with project.
Able to work in high pressure and cover more than one contractor.
Essential Qualifications and Education
7 years relevant experience in Construction field
Certificate/Diploma in Environment, Health and Safety such as NEBOSH IGC or IOSH MS
Academic degree
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
ISO Certificates, any of 45001 or 14001
Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Safety, and Environment
