Summary of Responsibilities: Assist the Assistant Group Director of Logistics in setting up a system to effectively control project logistics. Devise and implement procedures in place To understand the logistical task and devise a strategic, tactical logistics plan in response, to meet the needs of ensuring smooth distribution and delivery of all items. Plan and implement procedures, managing project elements in entirety. The project is fast pace and a demanding role, it requires an individual with fresh ideas ready to implement these Work with the Assistant Group Director of Logistics to develop innovative goals and objectives. To support the Assistant Group Director of Logistics in the daily running of the Logistics department with a team of 20 plus employees Ensuring a professional collaboration with other departments and third parties You will directly report to the Assistant Group Director of Logistics Manage system/process improvements and initiatives for logistics operations related to local distribution, drayage, logistics and warehouse management (there will be a team in charge of warehouse management, the role is to coordinate with them) which includes creating models, analyzing, and recommending changes to the existing logistics solutions to drive greater efficiencies in service and cost Understand the requirements in hand and come up with ideas to create a strategic plan to ensure smooth distribution and delivery of all items Supervise, coach and train the team on these processes and procedures the logistics of the project Training of store keeper and receiving agent teams, formally documented and evaluation each team member is up to the level of understanding and efficiency the project requires Coordination with the warehousing and freight company with relation to air/ocean transportation Conduct regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders to review locations, and logistics performances and to develop action plans to ensure innovation targets are met Monitor the operational status of deliveries and agreed distribution order Liaise and negotiate with all stakeholders, being suppliers, manufacturers, colleagues and client Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency with the assistance of the team Directly coordinate with the Asset Management and Inventory Control team Comply with laws, regulations, GDPR and ISO requirements Qualifications: 5 years of proven work experience working in logistics At least 3 years of experience in a similar position in a large-scale project Relevant Industry Knowledge in the Middle East, preferable Excellent problem-solving skills Agile and adaptable in a time when project changes or challenges arise Experience with finding the optimal route with various transport modes and multimodal transport and setup for transport Record of successful distribution and logistics management Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills Fluent in English (spoken and written), any additional language is a plus A proven track record of creating, executing and completion of strategic logistics Demonstration of strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills Developing and nurturing important supplier relations Good stakeholder relations – both internal and external High standards of customer service Commercially aware Adaptable Forward-thinking and driven Experience in working on complex projects, creating solutions and delivering value for the business Our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: We are an inclusive company and our ambition is to attract, recruit and promote diverse talent.
