About the job

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team as the Operations Supervisor. The Fleet and Operations Supervisor is a key managerial role responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of a fleet of vehicles / Motorcycles and related logistical activities. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and safe fleet operations while maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction.

What do we expect from you?

Logistics and Routing:

1. Track and analyze delivery schedules, making adjustments as needed to meet customer demands and deadlines.
2. Plan and optimize daily routes for drivers to minimize transportation time.
3. Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to customers while maintaining high levels of accuracy and adherence to delivery instructions.

Team Management:

1. Lead and supervise a team of drivers, mechanics, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
2. Foster a positive and safe work environment, promoting teamwork and professionalism among team members.
3. Handle personnel-related issues, such as scheduling, leave management, and disciplinary actions when necessary.

Safety and Compliance:

1. Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to minimize accidents and injuries, conducting regular safety training for drivers and staff.
2. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, environmental policies, and company standards.
3. Investigate and report any incidents, accidents, or violations promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
4.  Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and materials for vehicle maintenance.
5. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of necessary items while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Reporting and Documentation:

1.  Maintain accurate records and documentation related to fleet operations, including No. Orders, reports, and driver records.
2.  Generate regular reports for management, providing insights into fleet performance, costs, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, and transportation operations.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage complex logistical challenges.
• Knowledge of relevant safety and transportation regulations and environmental policies.
• Proficiency in using fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
• Effective communication skills to interact with team members, vendors, and customers.
• Attention to detail and ability to analyze data for informed decision-making.
• Recruiting quality employees to provide high-quality customer support.
• Motivating and supervising captains.
• Evaluating the performance of your assigned employees, delivering positive and/or negative feedback, and addressing any shortcomings.
• Evaluating and reporting on department metrics to upper management.
• Developing strategies to improve department metrics and performance.
• Improving the work environment and operations of your department and the organization as a whole.
